A certain hesitation
indescribably sweet
The nerves can swallow me whole,
They’re begging to eat.
And though I thought he was the magic
I see so often in the world,
The fear of being mistaken
Has taken its toll
A craving, a desire—
Can he set my soul on fire?
And if he does, but I burn
Will he quaintly observe?
I want him to belong to the world,
not to me
and what I want will come true,
Without a fail every time.
So I’ll find you between the stars at night—
Just think of me when you disappear at dawn.
